Based in central London, Charles Street is a renovation of an office that had long been out of date and was ready to enter another stage of use. Using light, calm tones we really wanted to lift the space, encouraging light to bounce into rooms as much as possible.
We also wanted to adapt the building to contemporary ways of working, taking into account acoustics and sound transfer, with spaces subtly split to facilitate different ways of working. Using light tones and soft furnishings, we wanted to encourage lightness into the space, even in the basement area, making these spaces conducive to long periods of occupation.
