This two storey extension to a Victorian terraced house in East Dulwich add character to this delightful home.
We’ve used a timber-framed structure, crafted with cross-laminated timber (CLT) panels and robust glulam beams, showcasing the best of modern sustainable architecture. Unlike traditional methods, we have opted for reduced carbon foundations.
On the ground floor, this extension features a spacious, light-filled kitchen. Envisioned as a space to entertain friends and family in this airy, welcoming space. With large windows and an open-plan design, it is a kitchen that feels both expansive and cozy—a perfect heart to the home.
The exterior is clad in oak, the arrangement of the battens creates a striking and elegant aesthetic that complements the Victorian architecture of the original house. The oak cladding not only enhances the visual appeal but also ages gracefully, adding character over time.
This environmentally conscious design does not just enhance the house; it respects and elevates the existing charm of the Victorian terrace. It creates a harmonious blend of past and present, all while ensuring minimal environmental impact. In summary, this extension is as thoughtful as it is beautiful.
